Triangle pose. Trikonasana

Triangle pose - trikonasana - looks simple but I notice when I fine tune and make my adjustments, I can feel the benefits throughout my entire body:


  • Begin in Warrior 2

  • On an inhale, straighten your front leg and very subtly shift your hips toward your back heel

  • Hinge or reach forward from your hips and bring your forward hand onto your shin or a block (or your foot as shown here) and reach your other hand towards the sky and gaze up at your fingertips

  • Breathe and notice the engagement of your core, the stretch in your side, spine, shoulders, the lightness in your hips

  • Come out gently and repeat on the other side

  • Take a moment to appreciate the flow of renewed energy
